Association of Youth Committed to Health Promotion in the town of Mokolo (AJEPSMO)
The Association of Youth Committed to Health Promotion in the town of Mokolo (Association des Jeunes Engagés pour la Promotion de la Santé à Mokolo), or AJEPSMO, is an association of youth in the town of Mokolo, approximately 80 km from Maroua. Mokolo is the second largest town in the Extreme North Region, with substantial commercial activity from village communities.
History
AJEPSMO became an official member of the EFA Youth Empowerment Network in early 2009. The association now consists of 18 active members who meet twice a month in one of the member’s homes. As the association only received its legal association status a few months ago, they do not yet have an association-wide income generation activity. However, a few of the individual members have their own income generation activities, such as the sale of eggs in the community.
