Current Campaigns
Sponsor a new Group in Training in the town of Moutourwa
EFA is now working with community members in the town of Moutourwa to begin the process of establishing an association of HIV+ youth. This association will be the first EFA association in the North region.
In addition to supporting HIV+ youth in the town of Moutourwa, one of the association’s primary objectives will be the implementation of educational campaigns with communities in the surrounding area, intended to counteract the high levels of stigma and discrimination facing HIV+ individuals in this region.
It costs EFA $400 to cover all of the costs associated with taking a new group from identification to legalization. If you choose to support our work in Moutourwa, we would be happy to share photos and updates about the group’s progress throughout the organizational development process.
Sponsor ABEPSA’s Commercial Warehouse Project

The members of ABEPSA would like to expand their warehouse project in Maroua. Currently, members of the association store millet, rice, corn, beans, soy beans and peanuts, purchased directly after the harvest, and re-sell them later in the year for profit. The members sell the foodstuffs at market, creating employment for members, and the profits allow them to buy even more stock during the following harvest. The stocked foodstuffs also assist members of the association in times of difficulty.
A $200 donation to the warehouse project will allow ABEPSA to expand their space and potentially begin a partnership with another association in the Youth Network. A new partnership would allow both associations to increase the profits of their income generation activities.
Sponsor the Peer Education Program

This is a test caption
EFA’s regional office launched the Peer Education program in March 2009. Now that the program is established, the regional office conducts one Peer Education training every other month that address a variety of topics, such as the latest research on HIV, best practices in HIV prevention and strategies for behavior change communication. Following trainings, the Peer Educators are responsible for distributing the information that they learn to the rest of their association members.
Each Peer Educator training costs EFA $160. A donation to the Peer Education program benefits all of the associations in the Youth Empowerment Network.
Sponsor School Fees for the children at the Child Support Center
It costs the Child Support Center an average of $80 per child to pay for educational support (including school fees, uniforms, school supplies and supplementary tutoring services). A donation of $80 will support one CSC child for a year at school.
